Twin ovine embryos about 23-25 days old. The embryos originated from twin ovulations in the right ovary. The corpora lutea visible here would be required to maintain pregnancy for the first third of gestation; after that the ewe could even be ovariectomized because the placenta would maintain pregnancy. This is unlike the situation in goats where the corpora lutea are required throughout pregnancy.
